We seek to strike a balance between DORA state compliance and an understanding of personal responsibility in maintaining a healthy immune system. Please read the following for our protocols regarding communicable illnesses.
In order for us to safely treat our patients, and to respect the rule of law of our state, we are open with the following considerations.
- We ask that immune-compromised or advanced elderly patients take precautions if there is a high incidence of cold, flu, Covid or other communicable illnesses rampant in the community.
- You no longer have to call the office when you arrive. You may enter directly.
- Masks are not required for asymptomatic patients. If you feel ill and are coughing, sneezing, etc with significant mucus production , please consider rescheduling your appointment.
- Public-access seating areas in the building are not regularly cleaned, so use them at your own discretion .
- Please do not bring extra people with you to your appointment, as we are minimizing people in the office.
- When you are in the treatment room, your temperature will be taken. Temperatures of over 100.4 will be automatically rescheduled. Those with temperatures from 99.0- 100.3 will be questioned further to assess risk, then if the Dr. decides it is safe to proceed, will be asked to monitor and report to Dr. Bahnemann later that day. Continued elevated temperature should prompt the patient to schedule with their PCM.
- 5-minute cleaning time is incorporated into your appointment duration, so we can thoroughly clean all contact surfaces between each patient or family group visit . PLEASE BE ON TIME FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. If you are more than 5 minutes late, you will be asked to reschedule. N0-shows may be charged an administrative fee, per our financial policy. Dr. Bahnemann makes every effort to keep to the schedule and not keep patients waiting.
- A glass barrier is up between the receptionist and patients to minimize respiratory transmission.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us prior to your appointment,
and please remember to invest in building your health and immune system!
Yours in good health,
Dr. Kerri Bahnemann
